Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is hiring for a full-time retail associate in Midlothian, VA. The role focuses on processing donations, maintaining store appearance, and delivering excellent customer and associate satisfaction.

Responsibilities include inspecting donations, sorting material, tagging items, and stocking shelves while meeting productivity standards. Evening/weekend availability is required; background check will be completed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• No previous experience required.
• No professional certifications are required.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Inspects donations and raw material for quality to determine marketability as outlined in the Retail Operations Manual.
• Sorts raw material - categorizes for store use, salvage, trash.
• Tags donated items according to Goodwill’s rotation system.
• Stacks and displays sorted goods for placement on the sales floor based on productivity standards.
• Produces appropriate number of items each day according to minimum standards.
• Adheres to uniform dress code standards and maintains a professional appearance.
• Communicates effectively with customers, peers and management.
• Works as a team member in a fast-paced environment and learns new procedures quickly.
• Cross-trained in multiple production and customer service positions.
• Adheres to Assets Protection control and compliance procedures.
