Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and help with opening and closing procedures.

This role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and the willingness to lead and train store associates while maintaining a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and maintain store communications and records.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep the store and stockroom well-stocked and organized.
• Protect store assets including cash and company property.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment and professional interactions.
