Job summary

Dollar Tree in Renton, Washington is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. Duties include opening and closing procedures, merchandising, and ensuring store standards are met.

You will assist with ordering merchandise, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, organized store and providing exceptional service to customers. The role emphasizes leadership and a positive, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store storefront fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
