Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-focused store and assist the Store Manager with supervision and merchandising.

You will participate in scheduling, training of associates, and safety meetings while ensuring policies are followed and inventory is accurate. This role requires strong math, cashier skills, and dependable transportation for occasional bank deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training and safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise reception, stocking, restocking and displays following planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, control damages and deposits, and help with cash handling and refunds.
• Support store operations in the Manager's absence.

Education
