Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store focused on customer service. You will assist with staffing, merchandising, deposits, and store security while supporting the Store Manager in daily operations.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring planograms, managing inventory, and maintaining financial integrity through cash handling and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner; provide customer service leadership.
• Strong organization and attention to detail; ability to interpret safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, planograms, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash procedures.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
