Retail Assistant Store Manager
$13.00 to $17.00 per hour. Commission structure pays you for every transaction you process. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $7.09 per hour on top of your hourly rate.

Position Summary
Assistant Store Manager with a minimum of six months of management or 3rd key experience. Accountable for day‑to‑day store operations, promoting a positive and productive environment. Partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. This position sets the tone for a customer‑centric environment.
Alongside the Store Manager, the role analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met, commits to the company's asset protection program, promotes the business, and targets new customer acquisitions. Employees work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and more.
Hourly wage plus commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance. Actual pay will depend on location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
- Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
- Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and ensure all procedures are followed to protect assets.
- Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
- Administer processes and procedures within the store (inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, enterprise‑level reporting).
- Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development as required.
- Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
- Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
- Ability to assist a customer in the building’s exterior or retrieve products from exterior storage buildings.
- Minimum age 18.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work at multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Will work 40+ hours a week; hours not guaranteed.
- Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and office machines.
- Multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Analytical skills.
- Cash handling experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

Commission Plan Information
Assistant Store Managers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Details are provided during the interview.
