Job summary

Dollar Tree in Union, MO is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and help ensure a smooth, welcoming shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities include supervising store associates, organizing merchandise, opening and closing procedures, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked sales floor in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform related physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
