Job summary

Dollar Tree in Saint Joseph, MO is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will help with daily store activities, guide associates, and ensure a welcoming shopping environment for customers.

Responsibilities include organizing merchandise, opening and closing procedures, processing directives, maintaining clean, well-stocked areas, and upholding safety and loss prevention standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean store and secure assets.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment and professional interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
