Job summary

Family Dollar in Cleveland, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help train Store Associates while ensuring a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, processing directives, maintaining displays, and safeguarding assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, kneeling, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean: bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
