Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Ohio LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a dynamic retail setting. You will assist with daily store functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure promotional displays are effective while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for colleagues and shoppers alike.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, processing directives, inventory, scheduling, payroll

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner
• Move merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Follow policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
