Job summary

Dollar Tree in Spring, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations and develop the team. You will assist with merchandising, customer service, opening and closing procedures, and loss prevention initiatives.

Ideal candidates have store management experience in retail or grocery and strong communication and problem-solving skills. A high school diploma is preferred, and you will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred; read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure policies are followed.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, and general areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
