Job summary

Dollar Tree in Houston, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, supervise associates, and ensure a clean, safe shopping environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, training, and adherence to company policies while delivering friendly service to customers and supporting the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized, protect assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; train and develop associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment and professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store and restock bathrooms; manage trash and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
