Job summary

Family Dollar in Roxboro, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and ensure a clean, organized sales floor and stockroom.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, enforcing policies, training Store Associates, and maintaining promotional displays while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment (preferred).
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and controlling loss.
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
