Job summary

Family Dollar in Winston-Salem, NC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, organize merchandise, and help manage payroll and scheduling while ensuring store standards.

The role requires strong communication, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Prior retail management experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Retail or store management experience is preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store operations and activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, and cash handling processes.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked areas and ensure store standards.
• Adhere to store policies and safety guidelines.
