Job summary

Dollar Tree in Bedford, VA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with opening/closing tasks, merchandise movement, schedules, and loss prevention to ensure a smooth daily operation.

The role emphasizes helping customers, supervising and coaching Store Associates, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment in a part-time capacity. Strong communication and reliability are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives including payroll-related tasks, communications, and store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas clean and organized, maintain a well-stocked sales floor and stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash and store safety.
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety guidelines; supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and floors; manage trash and ensure neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
