Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Roanoke, Virginia for part-time hours. You will assist with daily store operations, customer service, merchandising, pricing and safety procedures while supporting the Store Manager in team development and training.

The role emphasizes maintaining clean, organized floors and stockrooms, handling duties such as opening/closing, loss prevention, and ensuring policy compliance. A positive, energetic team environment is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent movement and lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with customers and associates
• Keep store clean and restocked, including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
