Job summary

Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking a Retail Assistant Manager to support the overall operation of a high-volume store. You will help the Store Manager achieve sales and profitability while upholding mission programs and policies.

You will lead through staff training and coaching, ensuring a safe, productive, and customer-focused environment in a full-time role in Florida. Join a mission-driven nonprofit with strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Two years of retail sales experience required.
• One year of management or supervisory experience required.
• Ability to learn and operate POS systems, donation systems, office computers, and telephones.
• Ability to supervise and train staff in production, merchandising, checkout, and customer service functions.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions with good judgment, patience, and understanding.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand business-related math.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving store sales, expense, profit, customer transaction, and Ecommerce revenue goals.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized store environment by enforcing Kaizen principles and safety rules.
• Support customer and donor relations by ensuring staff provide excellent service.
• Assist with merchandise production and sales floor operations per standards.
• Prepare accurate reports, documentation, and conduct inspections.
• Assist with store operations during Store Manager's absence.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, training, and coaching.
• Conduct staff meetings and training to improve knowledge and performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
