Family Dollar Stores Of Louisiana LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Lafayette, LA. You will assist with daily store functions, help customers, and ensure merchandise is organized and well-presented on the sales floor and stockroom.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, with responsibility for opening/closing procedures, payroll-related tasks, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety and company policies; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept and mopped, trash removed.
