Job summary

Family Dollar in Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time team member to support daily store operations and deliver excellent customer service. You will assist with merchandise organization, inventory, and displays, while helping customers with questions and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

The role involves opening/closing procedures, adherence to company policies, and collaboration with the Store Manager to supervise and train associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, bending.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll and scheduling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
