Job summary

Family Dollar in Ford City, PA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include opening/closing, directing staff, processing corporate directives, merchandising, payroll and loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, safe store.

You will train and develop associates, ensure friendly customer interactions, manage inventory from delivery to floor, and safeguard assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, payroll & scheduling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow policies.
• Help supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store areas clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors.
