Goodwill Central Texas is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to help lead our retail team alongside the Retail General Manager, delivering exceptional customer experiences and strengthening community impact.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 5+ years of retail experience, 2+ years in supervision, and strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills; ability to lift up to 35 lbs and weekend/holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in retail or similar roles.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or management position.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills.
• Customer-first attitude and team-focused mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stay active during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support the Retail GM in leading store operations, staffing, merchandising, and customer service.
• Supervise and mentor retail, donation, and production staff.
• Manage scheduling, inventory control, cash handling, and store opening/closing.
• Jump in on the floor when needed—assist donors, sort inventory, and serve customers.
• Drive store productivity while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and compliance.
• Take the lead on all store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
