Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Amherst, Ohio location to help run store operations and support customer service. You will assist with daily activities and supervise associates to maintain a well-organized, safe shopping environment.

Responsibilities include merchandising, opening/closing duties, adherence to directives, and loss prevention. The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and delivering exceptional service to customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and basic reading of directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Excellent customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record-keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Follow safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable.
