Madewell in Corte Madera is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team. You’ll drive profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and community engagement, while coaching the sales team to maximize performance and deliver on-brand service.

You’ll oversee a division of responsibility, support recruiting and training, and cultivate a collaborative, energetic environment that helps teammates exceed goals and grow with the brand.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience with similar scope.
• Passionately support our brand, customers and teams.
• Stay up to date with fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility and courtesy in tasks.
• Innovate and champion ideas while navigating uncertainty.
• Scheduling flexibility including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds (18 kg).

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact results and profitability.
• Own designated division (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems and technology with accountability.
• Assist with recruiting, training and development as needed.
• Partner to foster a collaborative environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team exceeds goals and delivers best-in-class service.
• Lead product knowledge sessions to boost authentic customer connections.
• Develop innovative community engagement and loyalty events.
• Step into various roles on the sales floor as needed.
