Madewell is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team and drive profitability through strong customer connections and community engagement. You’ll coach the sales team, adapt strategies with the leadership group, and ensure smooth operational support.

You’ll oversee divisions like Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, and Service & Selling, while ensuring top-notch customer service and team accountability.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Passionately support our brand, customers, and teams.
• Stay up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact business results with brand connection and profitability.
• Own your division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology while ensuring accountability.
• Assist Store Director & Associate Store Manager with recruiting, training and development.
• Partner to curate a collaborative working environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team is on track to exceed goals and provide best-in-class customer service.
• Lead fit sessions that boost product knowledge for associates and customer connection.
• Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
• Step into various roles on the sales floor as needed.
