Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Akron, OH to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards and safety.

The role involves leading store associates, training staff, and maintaining an inviting, efficient sales floor while handling opening/closing procedures and key store processes. Part-time position in a retail setting with a focus on service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and mentor store associates.
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment while maintaining professional interactions
• Other duties as assigned*
