Job summary

White House Black Market in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading the team, delivering a welcoming, customer-centered experience, and upholding brand standards on the sales floor and in back-of-house operations.

You will coach associates, assist in hiring, manage inventory and daily replenishment, and ensure safe, compliant store practices while building community connections through in-store events.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Flexible availability — including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• A team player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a team to deliver a customer-centered experience.
• Take ownership to achieve the financial goals of the store and motivate the team.
• Assist in the hiring, development, and coaching of associates.
• Lead by example on the sales floor, sharing product knowledge and utilizing an omni-channel approach.

• Take ownership to ensure safe and efficient store operations including inventory management, daily replenishment of floor merchandise, and execution of inventories.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, guidelines, and business practices.
• Build community connections through in-store company-sponsored events, philanthropy, and other initiatives.
