Job summary

Big Lots is seeking a motivated individual to support store operations as an Assistant Manager/Key Carrier in Wake Forest, NC. You will help provide excellent customer service while assisting the Store Manager with daily store operations to meet company targets.

The role involves leading store staff, executing directives, and maintaining a safe, organized environment on the sales floor and in the stockroom. A high school diploma or better and prior retail/leadership experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work in a high energy, team environment.
• Flexible, part-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training and development of store team members as delegated by the Store Manager.
• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in protecting and securing store assets, including cash.
• Maintain professional environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure stockroom and sales floor meet company standards and are organized.
