Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Emporia, Kansas is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and customer service at Flint Hills Mall. The role covers merchandising, staffing, scheduling, and inventory oversight to drive profitability and service excellence.

The Assistant Manager will step in during the Store Manager’s absence, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to company policies while promoting merchandise and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Able to assist in managing a team and achieve store goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling assets and store operations.
• Establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Assume store responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Lead personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation as needed.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments.
