Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Kentucky LP is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Pikeville, TN. You will assist with daily activities, merchandise flow, and employee training, while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

You will help manage inventory, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention, and you will be involved in opening/closing, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining clean,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, reaching, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain/promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff comply with procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including restrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
