Job summary

Dollar Tree in Billings, Montana is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day functions, help customers in a positive manner, organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and maintain seasonal displays while ensuring safety and efficiency.

You will supervise and develop Store Associates, uphold company policies, protect assets including cash, and maintain a clean, well-stocked store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet physical demands.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal displays.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean store and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean including restrooms, floors, trash; ensure areas are neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
