Job summary

J.Crew Group (JCG) is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team. You’ll help drive profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and strong community engagement, while coaching the sales team for peak performance.

You will collaborate with the rest of the leadership team to adapt strategies, oversee store operations, and support recruiting, training, and development. This role requires 1–2 years of retail management and a passion for our brand.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience
• Passionately support brand, customers, and teams
• Stay up to date with fashion trends and industry developments
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
• Scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Able to bend, reach, stretch for product and lift at least 40 pounds (18 kg)

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact business results while maximizing profitability
• Own designated division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling)
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology while ensuring accountability
• Assist Store Director & Associate Store Manager with recruiting, training and development efforts, if needed
• Partner with Store Director and Associate Store Manager to curate a collaborative working environment for all associates
• Ensure the team is always on track to exceed goals and provide best-in-class customer service
• Lead fit sessions that boost product knowledge for associates to elevate authentic customer connection
• Come up with innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events
• Can step into a variety of roles on the sales floor, if needed
