Job description

After years of building the best POS platform for restaurateurs, Toast is expanding into other food and beverage sectors such as convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops. This role requires a founder’s mindset as we grow Toast’s presence in this new vertical with the Toast Retail platform.

As a Territory Account Executive, you will be part of a founding team transforming how convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops operate. Using a consultative approach, you will prospect, build relationships, and sign up new accounts. Your understanding of their unique needs will help you develop customized solutions that enable their business success. We seek your passion, sales expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit to build the Toast brand in an assigned geographic territory.

Responsibilities
  1. Use a consultative approach to prospect, build relationships, and sign up new convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops.
  2. Generate lists of prospective clients and manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact to closing.
  3. Conduct demos and develop solutions tailored to prospect needs.
  4. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure expectations set during sales are met during delivery.
  5. Leverage Salesforce CRM to manage all sales activities.
  6. Understand the competitive landscape and position Toast effectively in the market.
Requirements

  2. Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills with negotiation abilities at all decision levels.
  3. Proven success in meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  4. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, team environment.
  5. Self-motivated, creative, flexible, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  6. Residency in or proximity to the target market.
  7. Willingness to travel 25% or more.

  • Retail operations experience.

The estimated Total Targeted Cash Compensation range is $129,000—$206,000 USD, comprising base salary, commission, and potential equity or other benefits. The starting salary will be based on skills, experience, and location. The role qualifies for uncapped commissions.
