Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Nashville is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep industrial equipment running smoothly in a fast-paced production environment. The role is full-time hourly with shift flexibility to cover days/evenings/overnights, weekends as needed.

You will work with a team to plan repairs, perform routine inspections, and uphold safety and food-safety standards while troubleshooting and addressing emergencies promptly. Strong mechanical/electrical knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years in industrial maintenance or 4 years' related experience.
• Experience in industrial maintenance covering multiple systems and controls.
• Preference for mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance certifications or degrees.

Responsibilities

• Have or be able to attain RETA certification.
• Demonstrate safety leadership and follow safe work practices.
• Plan and conduct equipment repairs as part of a team.
• Conduct routine audits and equipment inspections.
• Demonstrate troubleshooting abilities and maintain communication with operations.
• Respond to unplanned work requests promptly and safely.
• Follow food safety and good manufacturing practices.
• Be highly motivated and able to work independently.
