Job summary
Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a full-time maintenance technician for our plant in Nashville.
You’ll work on preventive and corrective maintenance of processing equipment, follow safety practices, and collaborate with operations to keep production running smoothly. Qualifications include a GED or high school diploma and 1+ year in industrial maintenance; RETA certification and knowledge of refrigeration, motor controls, PLCs, and hydraulics are valued.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1+ year maintenance experience.
- Industrial maintenance experience: RETA Certification, ammonia refrigeration, motor controls.
- Knowledge of PLC/software, hydraulics, piping, welding and machining.
- Preference given to candidates with certification or degree in mechanical/electrical/industrial maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Attain RETA certification.
- Plan and conduct equipment repairs.
- Follow safety and GMP practices.
- Work with operations to maintain lines and respond to unplanned requests.
