Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal Detroit Office seeks a Restructuring Director to lead teams on turnaround projects, performance improvement and corporate advisory engagements. The role requires deep restructuring experience, strong financial modeling and client leadership across phases of bankruptcy and restructuring.

You will oversee planning, cash management and stakeholder negotiations while mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in corporate restructuring, investment banking or consulting with 5+ years direct restructuring experience.
• BA/BS or MBA/MS in Accounting/Finance; Chapter 11 understanding.
• Professional certifications (CTP, CIRA, CPA, CFA) preferred.
• Advanced MS Office; ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
• Willingness to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team across turnaround, restructuring and performance improvement initiatives.
• Oversee 13-week cash flow and 3-statement financial models for clients.
• Develop and manage turnaround plans, negotiating with senior management.
• Drive cash conservation, liquidity strategies and business plan execution.
• Coach and evaluate junior staff and manage work streams.
