Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Restructuring Director to lead its Houston team, directing turnaround efforts across financial and operational restructuring. The role requires deep experience in bankruptcy, restructuring advisory, and corporate finance, with a hands‑on leadership style and a willingness to travel 100%.

You will manage client engagements, mentor staff, and drive value creation through strategic plans.

Qualifications

Over 10 years of work experience in corporate restructuring, investment or consulting with at least 5 years direct restructuring experience.
BA/BS and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related analytical fields.
Understanding of Chapter 11 fundamentals.
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
Ability to lead and mentor teams and manage multiple work streams.

Responsibilities

Developing and leading restructuring and turnaround plans to improve performance and enterprise value.
Providing day-to-day team management to ensure plans, budgets, and schedules are met.
Acting as the point of contact for assigned workstreams within client engagements.
Performing and overseeing analysis on business plans and financial models.
Reviewing 13-week cash flow and 3-statement models with clients.
Guiding clients through bankruptcy-related processes and negotiations.
Assessing operational drivers and developing business plans.
Developing cost reduction initiatives and implementation milestones.
Reviewing bankruptcy plans and 363 Sales processes.
Implementing cash conservation guidelines and controls.
Mentoring junior staff and conducting performance evaluations.
