Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Restructuring Director for the Los Angeles Office to lead a team through complex turnaround projects, optimize cash flow, and deliver performance improvements. The role requires deep restructuring expertise, client leadership, and strong financial modeling abilities.

You will guide engagements across bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy situations, manage workstreams, and mentor junior staff while traveling extensively to serve clients.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in corporate restructuring, investment or consulting, with 5+ years direct restructuring experience.
• MBA or MS in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Understanding of Chapter 11 proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute restructuring and turnaround plans to improve performance and value.
• Provide day-to-day team management for plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Act as the lead for assigned workstreams within client engagements.
• Perform and oversee analyses on business plans and forecasts.
• Review 13-week cash flow and 3-statement financial models with clients.
• Lead clients through working capital improvements and bankruptcy-related steps.
• Assess key operational performance drivers and implement cost reductions.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee training and performance evaluations.
