Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm seeking a Restructuring Senior Associate for the Detroit Office. You will work on restructuring and turnaround engagements, building cash forecasts and plans, and supporting bankruptcy-related initiatives.

Responsibilities include leading work streams, mentoring juniors, and delivering analyses to clients. A strong accounting/finance background and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 6+ years of work experience in corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking, and/or consulting or corporate positions with a financial or accounting focus, 4+ years of which is direct restructuring experience.
• BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related analytical fields.
• Advanced Microsoft, PowerPoint, and Word skills required.
• Professional certifications such as CPA/CFA/CIR A/C4350 preferable.
• Understanding of Chapter 11 proceedings.
• Advanced financial modeling experience including 13-week cash flow and 3-statement models.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

• Building and managing 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Building a liquidation analysis to address feasibility of Plan of Reorganization.
• Creating long-term business plans to track performance and manage working capital.
• Implementing cash conservation strategies and controls.
• Developing pre-bankruptcy plans and assisting with bankruptcy case administration.
• Supporting marketing initiatives by assisting with the pitch process.
• Leading a work stream within a project and mentoring junior resources.
