Job summary

Village on the Park McKinney is seeking Servers who are enthusiastic, friendly, and dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences for residents and guests in our assisted living community. You will greet guests, take orders, deliver meals, keep the dining room pristine, and support events with a warm, professional presence.

Requires 6 months to 1 year of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a certified food handler within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of related serving experience.
• Excellent customer service attitude and ability to interact with residents and guests.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Work well independently or in a team to complete tasks.
• High standards for appearance, cleanliness and personal hygiene.
• Accredited food handler certification within 60 days as per State guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and guests, ensuring seating and comfort.
• Take orders, present to kitchen, and deliver meals promptly.
• Maintain a spotless dining room and proper table settings.
• Ensure accurate orders and quality of food presentation.
• Assist with setting tables, clearing dishes, and restocking inventory.
• Explain menu items and assist with special requests.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and company policies.
• Attend required in-service trainings as scheduled.
• Be an active member of the community emergency response team.

Location: Village on the Park McKinney, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Pay Rate: $15.75/hr.

PRN Shifts Available

Schedule: Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the dining room is spotless and beautifully set for all meals and events.
• Greet all residents and guests with a smile, ensuring everyone has a comfortable place to sit.
• Take food orders, present them to kitchen staff, and deliver meals promptly and efficiently.
• Guarantee the accuracy of orders and check food quality and presentation.
• Respond swiftly to resident and guest requests, ensuring their dining experience is top-notch.
• Ensure drinks are poured and refilled in a timely manner.
• Follow all food handling, safety, and sanitation standards meticulously.
• Assist with setting tables, removing dirty dishes, disposing of waste, and restocking inventory.
• Remove all walkers from the dining room to ensure safety and return them immediately after meals.
• Make each resident and guest feel special, showing genuine pleasure in serving them.
• Understand the menu fully and be able to explain the selections to residents and guests.
• Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies.
• Take on additional responsibilities with enthusiasm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must obtain an accredited food handler certification within 60 days, as per State guidelines.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months to one year of related experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service attitude and ability to interact well with staff, residents, and guests.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks.
