Job summary

Bear S Restaurant Group in New Haven, CT is seeking an Assistant Manager to uphold an exceptional dining experience. You will support the GM & AGM by hiring, training, and supervising hourly staff, while optimizing labor, cash handling, and daily operations to hit sales targets.

You will lead pre-shift meetings, review DSS, manage inventory and vendor relations, and ensure safety and compliance with health, liquor, and company policies. Strong leadership and guest service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality background preferred.
• ServSafe and TIPS certifications are recommended or required within 8 weeks.
• Experience managing a team and overseeing daily restaurant operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hiring, training, and supervision of hourly staff.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and prepare end-of-shift reports.
• Manage cash handling, inventory, and labor optimization.
• Support DSS verification and discounts/void analysis in accounting systems.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor laws; uphold policies.
• Collaborate on events with the event team and guest satisfaction.
• Recruit, develop, and assess staff performance; address disciplinary actions.
