Job summary

Potbelly is seeking a General Manager in Katy, TX to lead the shop, drive sales, oversee P&L, and ensure food safety and guest satisfaction. Base pay ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 with bonus potential based on location and performance.

You will train and develop teammates, plan schedules, manage costs, and execute local marketing while maintaining health standards. Must be 18+, with 2+ years GM experience in food service or retail and a food safety certification.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Minimum 2 years as a General Manager with P&L responsibility.
• You must pass a Food Safety Certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, and develop shop team members to realize potential.
• Interview, hire, and build a strong, values-aligned team.
• Develop and maintain a positive Good Vibes culture to aid retention.
• Schedule Associates and Shift Leaders to meet labor goals.
• Manage cash handling, security, and back-of-house standards.
• Drive local shop marketing to maximize sales and recruiting.
• Control costs, variances, and inventory within the shop.
• Lead local marketing and community engagement activities.
• Spend 80–90% of time on the shop floor; ensure health and safety standards.
• Handle customer complaints and ensure high standards of execution.
