Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as General Manager in a restaurant or retail with P&L responsibility preferred.
• Must pass Food Safety Certification; after 2 unsuccessful attempts to pass you will not be eligible for a Leader role.
• 18+ years of age.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage allergens and maintain safety standards.
• Open availability and ability to meet deadlines while running an effective shift.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
• Experience leading teams and handling conflict resolution.
• Ability to write effective schedules and manage labor goals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, and develop shop team members to realize potential.
• Assess staff abilities and create development plans.
• Interview, hire, and maintain a strong team aligned with Potbelly values.
• Develop and maintain a positive culture that attracts and retains staff.
• Schedule associates, trainers, and shift leaders.
• Update shop information and hold regular staff meetings.
• Delegate tasks and ensure high execution standards.
• Ensure security procedures and proper cash handling.
• Drive local marketing and sourcing for recruiting.
• Control cost of goods, variances, and inventories.
• Lead local marketing plans and community engagement.
• Maintain P&L oversight and meet deadlines while on the shop floor.
• Comply with health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Handle customer complaints effectively.
