Job summary

HM Alpha Hotels & Resorts seeks a skilled Restaurant Bartender at Grand Hyatt Nashville. You will mix drinks, serve beverages and food, and manage bar operations in a fast-paced, high-volume hotel setting.

You will greet guests warmly, handle cash, and maintain bar cleanliness. Experience in hotels, POS systems, and team leadership is valued; state age requirements for serving alcohol apply.

Responsibilities

• Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
• Serve wine draught, bottled beer, non-alcoholic beverages and food.
• Collect money for drinks served.
• Stock and replenish glasses, beverages, mixes, fruit, and guest supplies.
• Display bottled goods and glasses attractively.
• Wash glasses, bar, and equipment.
• Garnish drinks by slicing/pitting fruit; prepare appetizers.
• Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Lead capacity: supervise associates in the absence of the Supervisor; assign work.

Job description

The RestaurantBartender will shape the guest experience through excellent service, product knowledge, and engaging hospitality. Your ability to craft beverages, manage bar operations, and create a welcoming atmosphere directly impacts guest satisfaction, food and beverage revenue, and brand reputation. Whether serving solo or supporting a team, your presence at the bar influences the energy and pace of service across the outlet.

HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

• Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
• Serve wine draught, bottled beer, non-alcoholic beverages and food.
• Collect money for drinks served.
• Orders and requisitions liquors and supplies. Stock and replenish glasses, beverages, mixes, fruit, and guest supplies.
• Place bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
• Wash glasses, bar, and equipment.
• Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks; prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese and cold meats.
• Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• If functioning in a Lead Capacity: (a) take responsibility for assigned associates in the absence of the Supervisor, (b) assign work, and ensure proper performance of assigned associates.
• Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Previous bartending experience in a hotel, bar, or restaurant environment preferred
• Experience with cash handling, POS systems, and bar setup/teardown
• Familiarity with food pairing and cross-selling techniques considered a plus
• Capable of working independently or as part of a larger service team

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• TIPS certification or equivalent required
• Must meet all state and local age requirements for serving alcohol
