Summary of Position

Provides friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. Performs all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and maintain a positive work environment as directed by the Manager on Duty. Controls the flow of business in the dining room to ensure guests feel welcome and comfortable. Checks out guests at the register. Provides genuine hospitality to ensure a highly satisfactory dining experience.

Position Activities and Tasks

• Host activities and guest interaction
• Reports to work well-groomed, in a clean uniform, practicing good personal hygiene
• Opens doors for guests and uses greeting, seating, and waiting list procedures
• Seats guests promptly and courteously, describing features and specials
• Checks out guests at the register, asks for feedback, and invites them to return
• Moves through the dining room to ensure guests have all needed items, being attentive and making guests feel special
• Offers bakery items for take-out and packages to-go orders efficiently
• Maintains cleanliness of cashier area, bakery cases, displays, lobby, entryway, restrooms, and dining room
• Assists with to-go orders, pre-bussing, cleaning, and side work during downtime
• Supports servers and bus persons to ensure guest satisfaction
• Communicates issues and suggestions to management

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours
• Ability to see at various distances and communicate clearly
• Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and chemicals
• Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2.5-3 feet
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Work irregular hours during busy times

Supervision and Skills

Receives direction from the Manager on Duty. Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service can be taught in-house. No prior experience required.

Compensation ranges from $11.13 to $12.50 per hour.
