Job summary

CHOPT is hiring an Assistant Manager for our West Hartford restaurant. You will support the General Manager, lead a diverse team, and ensure exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes training, food safety compliance, and operational excellence to deliver outstanding salads and guest experiences. We offer a 40-hour work week with potential overtime, a pathway from management training to leadership development, and local benefits including healthcare.

Qualifications

• Prior restaurant management or supervisory experience.
• ServSafe certification and any required city/state food safety certifications.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and employees and accurately exchange information.
• Skill in using a computer and/or tablet.
• Manual dexterity to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
• Capability to occasionally move or transport items up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support restaurant & GM by fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Prioritize exceptional customer service and hospitality.
• Train and coach hourly staff to support talent pipeline.
• Assist growth by helping identify and develop trainers.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensure safe working conditions to reduce risk of injury and accidents.
• Represent and protect the CHOPT brand.
• Establish staff compliance with policies and procedures.
• Assist with scheduling, payroll, inventory, and ordering.
