Job summary

Red Robin is seeking a skilled accountant to ensure timely journal entries and accurate reconciliations across multiple accounts. You will analyze variances, prepare supporting schedules, and maintain a strong SOX-compliant control environment.

The role involves collaborating on process improvements and assisting audits. You will contribute to internal controls, assist with software implementations, and document procedures while cross-training to cover absentee periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of three years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting in a public company environment.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• US GAAP knowledge with the initiative to remain current on accounting changes.
• Proficient in financial analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Experience with major ERP system and tools; Oracle Fusion and Blackline preferred.
• Above average knowledge of Excel and ability to interpret complex formulas.
• Unquestionable integrity and ethical standards.
• Industry experience in consumer-based, multi-site operations such as food & beverage, retail, or hospitality is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate journal entries related to various accounting areas.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues.
• Perform detailed variance analysis on assigned accounts.
• Prepare schedules and analyses that support significant balances.
• Maintain effective SOX controls and documentation.
• Contribute to improvements in accounting processes and internal controls.
• Prepare supporting schedules for auditors and respond to audit requests.
• Support software implementations and process improvement initiatives.
• Document processes and cross-train to provide coverage during absences.
• Complete special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned.
