Job summary

Pawnee Mental Health Services in Manhattan, Kansas is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with mental health or co-occurring conditions in home, school, work, crisis/respite settings, and community-based programs. Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges.
• Ability to work in home, school, work and community settings.
• Willingness to work weekends, overnight, and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor budget on the Person-Centered Plan to ensure services are provided as directed and approved by the treatment team.
• Provide direct services in location most appropriate based on client need and document progress in each persons chart.
• Provide one-to-one support to clients in crisis to maintain stability.
• Communicate with family members and other members of the treatment team about progress or needs.
• Implement scheduled day activities such as exercise, socialization, goal setting, illness management and community outings.
• Review client incidents with supervisor and submit written reports as outlined in policy.
• Advocate for client rights and confidentiality.
• Attend clinical supervision and participate in program staffing.
• Drive to community settings for delivery of services and transportation of clients.
• Meet administrative and clinical documentation requirements in a timely manner.
• Meet client care hour expectations as outlined in agency policy.
• Work with supervisor and mobile crisis team to support 24-hour crisis coverage.
