Job summary
Pawnee Mental Health Services seeks a Peer Support Specialist to work with clients in our Kansas programs. You will use your lived experience to support recovery, connect clients to resources, and help build a trusting relationship with individuals facing behavioral health challenges.
You will participate in supervision, maintain documentation, and advocate for client rights while maintaining confidentiality. Travel to community settings may be required, and strong communication is essential.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Lived experience with mental health services required.
- Clear English communication.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in building a support network.
- Support client treatment planning and medication discussions.
- Document incidents and reports per policy.
- Advocate for client rights and confidentiality.
- Provide mentoring for daily challenges.
