Job summary

Qualifications

• Current State License required.
• Active RRT credential from NBRC required.
• BLS certification by start date.
• ACLS within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the respiratory therapy department, including staff interviews and performance evaluations.
• Lead employee engagement, recruitment and retention efforts.
• Implement and enforce standards of care, policies and procedures.
• Ensure regulatory requirements are met for respiratory care and point-of-care testing.
• Create and maintain clinical schedules for safe staffing.
• Monitor clinical costs and budgetary controls.
• Collaborate with pulmonary physicians on weaning from ventilation and protocol development.
• Advance clinical excellence through staff development and quality improvement.
• Educate patients and families; provide counseling.
• Maintain competency in rapid response and code events.
• Occasionally serve as Lab Manager for point-of-care testing and Safety Officer duties.
