Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Tallahassee is hiring a Respiratory Therapy Manager to lead the respiratory dept., guide clinical care, and oversee therapy practices in collaboration with the CNO. You will mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage staffing and costs to deliver high-quality patient care in a post-ICU setting.

The role requires an RRT credential, active state license, BLS, and ACLS within 6 months, plus supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the daily operations of the respiratory therapy department, including staff interviews, hiring decisions, orientation, performance evaluations, training and development, and equipment issues.
• Sharing responsibility for employee engagement, recruitment and retention.
• Implementing company standards of care, policies and procedures.
• Ensuring all regulatory requirements regarding respiratory and point of care are met.
• Creating and maintaining clinical schedule for safe staffing.
• Maintaining clinical cost control.
• Coordinating Wean Team/Pulmonary Rounds with pulmonary physicians to facilitate/monitor weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement through staff development.
• Teaching and counseling patients and families.
• Maintaining competency in Rapid Response and code events.
• Site-Dependent: Functioning as Moderate Complexity Lab Manager over point of care testing and as Safety Officer.
